The museum is located on Plattsburgh’s Old Base Museum Campus, with four galleries, a gift shop, and a research library. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 am to 3pm, as well as by appointment.
Our building hosts four galleries across two floors. On permanent display are Redford Glass and the Arto Monaco diorama which represents the battles of Plattsburgh and Valcour Island.

This exhibit contains a variety of local military history, including the Aikin Rifle, one of the gun carriages from the Royal Savage, as well as the diorama representing the battles of Plattsburgh and Valcour Island.

A history of local weddings, including gowns, photographs, and other materials from weddings spanning the time from the 1840s to the 1960s.

This gallery contains the history of the Hotel Champlain, as well as the history of transportation in Clinton County through enterprises like the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, the Plattsburgh Traction Company, and the Lozier Motors Company. This gallery is also home to our exhibit on Redford glass.
