Interpreting the history of Clinton County, the Clinton County Historical Museum features two floors of exhibits, including four galleries and display areas, as well as a gift shop offering an extensive collection of books and mementos related to local history. Our permanent collection includes over 50,000 artifacts, textiles, documents, photographs, and paintings, and researchers are welcome. Our museum boasts an impressive collection of artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell the story of Clinton County's past. Exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including the region's cultural heritage and industrial development. Visitors can also explore the museum's extensive collection of military memorabilia, which includes items from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, and both World Wars. Our museum is conveniently located on the Old Base Museum Campus in Plattsburgh, New York.

The Clinton County Historical Association also hosts a variety of events and educational programs throughout the year. These include lectures, workshops, special exhibitions, and guided tours of the local area. Additionally, the museum offers research services for those interested in delving deeper into the history of Clinton County.
The Clinton County Historical Association (CCHA) was chartered by the New York State Education Department in 1945 and works to preserve and share the history of Clinton County through its community efforts, the Clinton County Historical Museum, and the Bluff Point Lighthouse.
