Highlights

Military Legacy Gallery

The Military Legacy Gallery covers the major military events in Clinton County from the Battle of Valcour in 1776 through to the Citizens Military Training Camp Maneuvers in 1939. Showcased are the stories of the Aikin Volunteers and the Plattsburgh Idea, along with a diorama created by Arto Monaco.

Rum Across the Border - Revisited

Many Clinton County residents were involved in one aspect or another of liquor transport during the Prohibition Era. This two room exhibit recreates the atmosphere of the era telling local stories. The exhibit was created with the help of a Corridor of Commerce Grant from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership (CVNHP).

Pathway to America250 Steering Committee Announced

Clinton County Historical Association awarded $8000 in Grant Funding from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership for Pathway to America250. The purpose of this grant is to form a team and prepare a plan to make the America250 commemoration of our nation’s founding the most comprehensive and inclusive celebration in our County’s history.

The Catholic Summer School of America

The general public is invited to a talk and photo presentation about the Catholic Summer School of America (CSSA) on August 7 at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Historical Museum, 98 Ohio Avenue on the Old Base in Platttsburgh. The presentation will be given by Cliff Haven resident Roger Black and will feature over 50 original protos from the archives of the Clinton County Historical Association. The presentation is free and open to the public.
