Women's Equality Day Forum

The public is invited to join the League of Women Voters of the North Country and Clinton County Historical Association members to mark the Centennial Anniversary of the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.

Street Drive - Cancelled

CCHA has cancelled its street drive planned for September 5. Safety concerns about COVID-19 and social distancing are the reason for the cancellation.

Dr. William Beaumont Presentation

An overview of the life of Plattsburgh’s medical pioneer, Dr. William Beaumont, will be presented by Dr. Paolo Fedi, May 17th, 6:30 pm, at the MHAB Life Skills Campus, 14 Dormitory Drive, Plattsburgh (off New York Road, then Idaho Avenue).

A photo array of Plattsburgh's Industries at the Turn of the Century by Dick Soper and Helen Nerska will be on display at the Clinton County Government Center on Margaret Street in Plattsburgh.

Bridge Street Bridge Dedication Presentation

The dedication of the Stone Arch Bridge on Bridge Street in Plattsburgh in 1930 was attended by over 5,000 people. Join Roger Black at the MHAB Life Skills Campus on Thursday, June 17th for a 6:30 pm for a talk about the bridge, the downtown area and to view photos of the event.

Cemetery Tour of the Town of Peru

Volunteers will give a Cemetery  Tour of the Town of Peru including the histories of three cemeteries in the village and the Quaker cemetery. Lunch will be included. $15 for CCHA members. $20 for non-members  Register at 518-561-0340.

Walking Tour of U.S. Oval on Old Base

Learn about the history of the Plattsburgh Barracks Army Base and the buildings around the old Parade Ground with Clinton County Historical Association Museum Director Helen Nerska.  Meet at the CCHA Museum starting at 10 a.m., July 3.

“Sunday on Valcour Island” featuring Tours of the Historic Bluff Point Lighthouse with additional historic island farm tours

The public is invited to join the Clinton County Historical Association (CCHA) on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at the Peru Dock for the opportunity to visit the historic Bluff Point Lighthouse on Valcour Island.  Round trip transportation will be provided for $30 per person.

Isaac Johnson: A Soldier, Quarryman, Master Mason

The Clinton County Historical Association will host the lecture “Isaac Johnson: Slave, Soldier, Quarryman, Master Mason, Contractor” by Cornel “Corky” Reinhart, on Tuesday, July 13th, in Plattsburgh.
