Point Au Roche and Ingraham Cemetery Tours

The Clinton County Historical Association is pleased to sponsor a tour of two cemeteries on August 14th in recognition of the Town of Beekmantown Bicentennial Plus One Commemoration. The tours will be hosted by Carl Gonya and will begin at 9:30 am at the Point Au Roche Cemetery in Beekmantown and conclude at the Ingraham Cemetery in Chazy.

These cemeteries represent the many different time periods in what would become the history of the United States. These sites hold the graves and stories of local families and soldiers from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican American War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean, and others.

The handouts will include site guides, brief cemetery histories, and instructions on how to safely clean cemetery stones. Handouts and a bag lunch are included with the registration fee of $15. COVID safety requirements will be respected. To register for the tour, please call the Clinton County Historical Museum at 5185610340 or email director@clintoncountyhistorical.org.
