This “spirits of wine” tin pitcher was recently donated to the Clinton County Historical Association by Melinda Borshoff. Her grandfather and great-grandfather maintained the lights on the Plattsburgh Breakwater in the late19th and early 20th centuries. It would have contained a form of Ethyl Alcohol used to clean the prisms in the light.
